Three weeks old

It is hard to believe it's already been three weeks since Georgia was born! Since then, she has survived her first snowstorm (make that four or five snowstorms in a row) and has experienced her first Christmas. She got to know her Nanny and Grandpa Wardrep, who visited here from Chattanooga and not only were a huge help during Georgia's first days at home but were also lots of fun to have around as we celebrated the holidays.

We are a bit sleep deprived but are enjoying our new daughter tremendously and are amazed by how quickly she grows and learns. Georgia becomes more alert and aware of her surroundings each day and has started to turn toward our voices or loud noises. Before we know it, she'll be smiling and cooing. She has a hearty appetite and wants to wake up a couple of times in the night to eat. In fact, she had already gained 11 ounces by the time of her two week check-up last week! She loves to stretch out her long arms, legs and fingers and we're pretty sure she's going to play piano or conduct an orchestra one day. She hates baths with a passion and can get quite dramatic with her protests, but we think she'll learn to love them as she gets older.

The last few weeks have been intense, exciting and emotional to say the least. I am behind on writing thank you notes and promise to get them out as soon as possible. In the meantime, I want to thank everyone for your good wishes via e-mail, phone call, card, visit or gift. Your thoughtfulness means so, so much to us and we really appreciate all you've done.
